I was standing with Joachim Vance while he talked to Mark Gage and one of the Nova Family promoters here in L.A., the folks who put on Gravity w/ Source and just last weekend, Landing w/ Vapour Space/STC/et al. Said promoter mentioned that he was trying to see if he could get a Megadog-esque RePHLeX crew outing for Los Angeles - consisting of AFX, Mu-Ziq and Mike "Kosmic Kommando" Dredd. The major obstacle is the 5-figure (dollar) sum needed to pull it off ... So, if you see cheap airfares to L.A. in your Sunday paper, clip it out and save it for a rainy day :-) Mark told me that the Infonet comp. started life as a dub tape he made up for a bunch of friends that are into a bunch of different stuff, so he tried to please everybody in some way. As for his own stuff, he played a downright stormer of a set, starting with a noticably re-worked "Gravitational Arch of 10" snippet and ending with a full-on headphuq Acidic blast which had the whole crowd howling in ecstacy ... Wunnerful, wunnerful. (Apologies to Lawrence Welk. And-a one and-a two a ... ) - Greg

Not to be anal about this, but if it's not corrected it could be confusing... the comp Gage did was a collection of things from the Intellinet-distributed labels (+8, Probe, PSI, Stickman, Accelerate, etc.), rather than the UK-based Infonet label.

I've seen him three times live now, and he's never failed to melt my brain. | Dave Walker, Detroit Art Services (DAS) | | | | marmoset@msen.com "...driving in my Cosmic Car..." |
