well, it was fugging brilliant! no-one there was as good as
orbital, who i saw at a manchester megadog last year, but the whole thing was
better. mr egg ban yasi (or whatever it is :) was cool as anything, lots of
303age and also some crazy samples (gary glitter, guns'n'roses :) eat static
were excellent, much better live than on cd (imho), and the decor was better
than last time i went, AND it was smaller, so i got to talk to that weirdy
beardy guy that does all the talking at the start - who is he? he managed
to get us all chanting "alien foetus, alien transfer....substation zero
six...600 light years per second...smash the criminal justice bill! smash
the tories!" which was something of a giggle. :)
eat static broke down once, which was quite weird, i think he pressed
the wrong button on his 'puter and it all just stopped. it was the most
drugs orientated night i've been to - the weirdy guy came out just as we
were going in, and he was shoiuting "for god's sake, if you've got
anything, put it in your SOCKS not your POCKETS!" and i'd only been there
5 mins when a girl walked past with the cry of "ecstacy, whizz, hash..." :)
the atmosphere was excellent, lots of people talking to you and
all that, passing on the joints etc... all in all it was a fucking
brilliant show, i converted quite a few friends to live 'idm' (or
whatever) and i danced my socks off. be sorry you weren't there :)
onto another subject...
yesterday, i also found a copy of stakker, humanoid. it's just credited to
b.dougans, with production and mixing credits to j.laker, so i guess it
isn't really fsol, but is it worth anything? i guess not, but it was the
only interesting record i could find in the shop, it was the first one i
picked up, and it was only 1 1/2 pounds.
sorry about this huge ramblage of a posting, but i just got up and my head
isn't working too good. :)
cheers,
