Depends on whether MykleG or Harry WAZZUP! are subscribed or not. If so, you aren't. If not, you are (-: Age is a state of mind (and wrinkled skin and rounder tummies (-: ) anyway ... (Plus, it can have its benefits - even IDM-wise. I saw Kraftwerk ... I saw Bowie do "Warszawa" live ... I saw "Live at the YMCA"-era Cabaret Voltaire ... etc.) What I'd *really* like to know is how all you young'uns keep up with all this stuff. Being as how we're in the era of "I just spent US$115 and all I got were 4 import CDs and 2 import CDS's ... " It just costs WAY too much money to keep up with music these days, *sigh* ... - Greg

For those of us "young'uns" who aren't djs or computer engineers/programmers (though I don't know what _that_ has to do with anything, except making $$$) there is a simple way to make "important" ends meet: Step 1) Apply for credit -- both Visa & MC make it *real* easy for students to get credit cards (they *like* students. Students = $$interest$$ Step 2) Apply for Student Loan (these are trickier -- gotta be more creative) Step 3) Buy lotsa CDs when you have money cuz these can be used like coupons later (note:only at buy & sell record shops) Step 4) Tell your parents you had to buy books, pay for that Mother's Day phone call, pay back your roomate for the cable bill etc... Step 5) This step can come anywhere in the list. Go CD shopping!!! If at any time, despite Steps 1-5 you have no food for more than 2 days, go to the Food Bank. At least they understand. Well, that's how I do it anyway. Actually being 30+ seems worse for keeping up: when I go to a record store, I want the idm things I'm interested in, PLUS industrial and experimental sound releases, the weird progressive releases I've followed for years (new and cd reissues), jazz, odd rock bands, all the solo artists I've been collecting over the years, downtown nyc scene releases, avante classical, soundtracks, world music, other indescribable records... It never ends, and every year I know a little bit more about the tendrils of the music world. It's to the point that I'm almost afraid when someone plays me something really good that I know nothing about :) Phil Z
