Seeing as everyone has now bought the bloody thing: what's the general feeling about the quality of the brown vinyl pressing? I just popped back to my room to play it and the whole of side one is scratchy as ****. There are no visible markings. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH. Bloody warp. why do they encourage the purchase of the vinyl (by putting an extra track on it) when the sound quality is so abysmal??? If this is the only faulty copy, let me know so that I can get another. If it's a common fault, I may have to forego the extra track. john.. -- .ATARI.st.CASIO.ht700.KORG.ex800.OSC.oscar.POWERTRAN.transcendent2000. .ROLAND.sh2.tr606.cr8000.SCI.sixtrak.YAMAHA.dx7ii.pf10. solo ContinuousEvolution <<<<Tape EP out soon>>>> with i.s.gibson: quanta/flex <<<<Watch this space>>>>

My copy suffers from surface noise, though it's bearable. Warp pressings seem to have gone down hill massively over the last siz months or so. (On was a pile of crap....) Cosmic

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of mine. WARP vinyl is usually shite. I'm still going to buy a CD player tho, with Kirk's Virtual State and SAWII the first two CD buys. Despite the fact I have them already :) greg 3 0 3

Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought - only record one is crap, records two and three are 'normal'. The music is quite fine though... (I'm moving in with my girlfriend soon, and *she* has a CD player ... I too have Virtual State - not a bad pressing - but I'd really like to buy the CD of Underworlds: dubnobasswithmyheadman 'coz that *is* smart!) john.. -- solo ContinuousEvolution <<<<Tape EP out soon>>>> with i.s.gibson: quanta/flex <<<<Watch this space>>>> <<..........LinearTrance.e.p...20minutes....4.tracks>> <<...b/w....Flex.e.p.one.......20minutes....3.tracks>> <<...send.blank.C46.................................>> .....Phhhzzzzzzttttt.....

I'm not trying to start another cd vs. vinyl thread here, but if you are so pissed about the sound quality of the SAW vinyl version, why don't you save yourselves some grief and get the CD version? "But ooooh, the vinyl has an extra track. Wank, wank, ooooooooh." Hey, I would rather have 24 great-sounding tracks than 25 that sound like my Rice Krispies in Coke (snap, crackle, pop, fizzzzz!). I mean, who's gonna mix this in a club? Not your typical dance fodder... -boB

Fair enough.... *If* I had a CD player. john.. ps. I've since played the rest, and sides 3,4,5 & 6 are OK. I'll just have to get a new side 1 & 2.... -- solo ContinuousEvolution <<<<Tape EP out soon>>>> with i.s.gibson: quanta/flex <<<<Watch this space>>>>
