hey all, i really want to buy a new disc but my money supply is
getting low and i want to make sure my next selection is a good one. first
of all, let me preface this by saying that i am very picky about my idm
(hardcore is still my preferred music style) and i know that idm varies a
lot so help me out to decide here...
i've heard a lot of people having orgasms over Willy Orbit but
since i've never heard any of his stuff (actually i probably have but not
realized it), could someone describe his style to me? comparisons to other
artists, description of music texture (very electronic, organic, spacey,
dark, etc), and anything else would be appreciated...
as for what i like in music, i will be one of the few to admit that
i like my techno with a light sugar coating. structure is important too
(melody, rhythm, logical tonal progression); for example, i don't really
like amorph androg because to me it seems like one large exercise in
texture without any meaning or movement. orb, however, has texture,
melody, rhythm, the works =).
given all this, do you guys think i would like willy? i've already
wasted 15 smackers on amorph androg (go ahead and flame me) and i don't
have much more money to throw away. maybe i should stick to the mindless
hardcore that i know better...
