here's a few picks for those who are inclined to pick up some new music while they are waiting for the next idm times.. once again though, i must mention my reviews are generally more dance inclined than jon's.. kelly d playlist 02.07.1994 havana - skyhat part v (limbo) havana back after a hiatus with some driving trance somewhere in between slam and underworld.. the ep is a double 12" entitled "condensed" and aside from skyhat, "discorder" is usable also.. overall much less melodic than previous havana offerings but nonetheless worthwhile.. quench - dreams (infectious) yow.. off the uk label infectious comes a record licensed from australia that sounds rather german.. stunning intensity and it includes crunch mixes for the more progressive house inclined.. andromeda - trip to space/dream frequencies (save the vinyl) trip to space sounds a bit like lunatic asylum's meltdown but less in your face.. dream frequenies is the one though with some nice ambient breaks and a very eye-q feel.. illuminatus 2 - mystique (23) very fast trancecore and an ambient break with.....guitar.. not usable if the crowd is not for the harder stuff, but if they are they will eat this up.. cosmic baby - loops of infinity (logic) cosmic is back, but this one isn't as strong as heaven's tears.. still, if used correctly it will cause heart palpitations.. tranceformer - let your mind dive (suck me plasma) god those vocals are bad.. turn the record over and put on the wordkouf mix and you'll get some cosmic baby-sounding melodic trance.. much better.. arpeggiators - elements (harthouse) what is it with the arpeggiators and those crap vocals? well on this four song ep three have vocals and one doesn't.. three songs suck and one brings down the house.. you can figure out which is which.. the essence of nature - blue orchidee (harthouse) sven & ralf are back and this is one of their best ever.. an acidic stomper that just goes and goes.. cybordelics - fairy tales (harthouse) i already posted about this.. peter pan is heavenly.. java - cosmos (eye-q) oliver lieb and dr. atmo with some laid back housy trance still with a german sound.. one mix is about 120 and has hip hop-py beats.. nice.. goahead - freebeach (eye-q) eye-q is getting more and more melodic and relaxed.. this one contains the sample from hobo "let your body be free".. innersphere - let's go to work (sabresonic) sabresonic going to work with some...well...you know the sound.. but this is possibly the best sabresonic release ever..
