Some of us are perverse, we prefer to save five or ten bucks and buy things upon domestic release. C. -- (chris.hilker) cspot@cats.ucsc.edu

Aside from the fact that the new Autechre album has been out for 2 weeks already (1 Dec 93 I think...) I'd like to mention some new recent finds that will cater to the list's veins.. 69*Sound on Sound--a Carl Craig alias, its loaded with many electronics and lots of funky breaks and 909's. Must have. 69*4 Jazz Funk Classics--CC once again, this time with more breaks and analogue lines that run up behind you and scare you. Almost acid jazz.. until the 303's, 606's, and 909's flood in.. Basic Channel (label) BC01-04--Projects between Maurizio and Jeff Mills. Mostly pounding trance stuff, repetitive, yet somehow not boring. That distinction pushes it way above the rest of "dark trance" or what have you.. Maurizio * Quadrant (Remixes?)--Just came out on planet E in Detroit, this was "supposed" to be the legendary song that is remixed on a Basic Channel album (BC03) but instead this features many soft trance tracks.. ala BDP. Nice. Teste * Perseptions--My boy out of Toronto, Himadri and his partner Dave. This is the faster trance stuff.. very edgy, noisy, and nice. There is also a red label, red vinyl album out with some slower ambient/trance stuff which is highly recommended.. ** Those of you who have asked for Enhanced cassettes.. please read: My master bit the dust... A long, saddening story involving hazelnut coffee, the bus, and a shitty tape player. Sorry, but it got real squelched. So, I'm in the process of rerecording/writing quite a bit of material. I alos bought a load of new gear.. so expect.. a lot of refined stuff instead of the usual sketchy-sounds. But still raw and experimental, I'd say.. sines -- ++ todd sines ~ ++++ tsines@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu / analogue@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu ++++ 1770 n high st apt.L columbus, oh 43201 * 614 299 3101 ++ analogue heaven * ars * ele mental * enhanced * sense/net

or you could add a boring 909 thump in there at the same bpm, drop in some timothy leary samples, get everyone high on xtc, or is that speed? and start a new religion based on conformity, disrespect, and cool clothes using the fascade of *community* to pull it all off or you could just join the ____________(add your city here) rave scene. Yes, TeeP, *YOUR* vision and scene is an even more meaningful fascade than those *OTHER* damn fascades.

I paid $16.99 for mine, on CD. (At Record Time, also. I assume that we are speaking of different Record Time's though - the one I go to is in Detroit!) I don't think that $16.99 is a huge price for an import album. Especially one that runs at 78 minutes long. Heck, if I were to buy it here, in Canada, I'd be paying $32.99 (Can.). Could someone tell me if the u-Ziq album (on Rephlex) is available on CD, yet? According to the back of the LP cover it should be, but I've had no luck in finding it. (I've even special ordered it.) ============================================================================== Ian Woodhouse mada7170@mach1.wlu.ca ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Analogue Adored, Digital Deplored * ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Info on 'zine submissions: finger mada7170@mach1.wlu.ca ==============================================================================

You could always order it direct from RePHLeX, Cat 013CD, but that can sometimes take quite a while. If you are still having problems, I should be able to get it for you through Watts. :flu'id (floo'-)
