Then you haven't figured out how to use one properly. I'm not trying to put you down but a well-setup eq will add depth to the sound of any stereo system. But don't waste your money on one with only hi & low controls, or one with only 7 bands on it. It's necessary to have at least 11 or better yet the full 33 bands. I hope this doesn't start a flame-war. It could simply be that I haven't ever heard a good sound system out of the box with no tweeking necessary. - stevenJ
