Hi guys, I thought I'd weigh in with my Anglophile obsessist info
concerning the 'House and Mr. Jezzard. I think that Spiritualized
reference was a slip, since it's the UK version of the Chapterhouse
album which has the full alternate version of the album. To quote a
recent Melody Maker review, "The Global Communications remixes
(limited edition free CD) the more ambient experimental/dub aspects of
"Blood Music" shoot light years into the direction Chapterhouse should
be heading." A bit ungrammatical, but there's yer info.
As for Ralph Jezzard, he seems to have come to attention within the
past three years; I can't recall anything he's done previous to that.
Among his credits, besides "Blood Music" and EMF: early Chapterhouse
stuff (the "Pearl" single and part of the "Whirlpool" album) and the
Senseless Things (the "Easy to Smile" single, possibly more). As all
the production credits I know of are for British bands, I'm willing to
guess he's a Brit himself.
Last thought: so Seefeel are godlike, as claimed? Glad to hear it,
because everything I've heard about them so far makes them something
to watch for indeed. In the UK, "Quique"'s on the Too Pure label,
which does not have a full distribution deal with an American company
like 4AD or Mute, so here's hoping an individual deal was worked out.
Yers, NAR
