Hey you guys, Can you please forward this to your lists? --------------------------------------- ////unpack your brain..............>>>> strap on your ears///// show.your.face................................................../// SYNAPSE audio.visual.experience. July 18th... and every Tuesday! Synapse, the audiovisual night hosted by The Terpsichore Group since 2001, showcases music and visuals from superstars of the experimental Electronic art scene. Beginning at San Francisco's iconic Foreign Cinema and more recently at West Hollywood's swanky multimedia lounge Monroe's, Synapse has featured a plethora of artists from prestigious audiovisual labels such as Warp Records, K7!, City Centre Offices, Mille Plateaux, Merck, Schematic, Asphodel, Ghostly International, Droid Records and Planet Mu. Riding on the tail of several recent releases by members, Terpsichore is now bringing Synapse back to the public once again with a fresh roster of musicians, vjs and artists slated for the summer! Landing in Star Shoes, the Hollywood hipster lounge complete with a dazzling array of vintage shoes, Synapse is gearing up to slice and dice the Hollywood Strip with experimental sounds, mind-bending visuals and sexy techno to get your own shoes moving. Featuring residents: Visuals: S-Video Music: Sariah Storm, Nalepa, John Von, Drumcell, and JRick aka Brasswork Agency Synapse Tuesday, July 18, 2006 9:30pm - 2am Appendics Shuffle Kenneth James Gibson AKA. Kenneth James G. / [a]pendics.shuffle / Eight Frozen Modules / K.J. Gibbs / The Premature Wig / dubLoner / Bal Cath / Electronic Music Composer / Reverse Commuter / Hiss and Buzz / Live / DJ / Kenneth James Gibson is a man of many personas. Keeping up with him can be a time consuming, yet rewarding venture into sound. As soon as you think you know him and can grasp what’s going on, he puts on yet another mask and becomes something else. Always a surprise and never a let down, he gives us what we want but don’t expect. A rare stone in today’s musical climate, Ken is rolling and collects no moss. In 1997, Ken moved from Austin Texas to the big city of Los Angeles, California. After releasing a few records as Eight Frozen Modules on various labels such as Trance Syndicate and City Slang, he gave up the 4 track and guitar for a desktop computer and software. While taking a few years off from releasing music, he learned how to create a new world in the land of computers. After 3 years of not leaving his padded studio cell, he resurfaced with the 2001 Eight Frozen Modules CD “Random Activities and Broken Sunsets”, a mix of glitched out electro, techno, and idm for the LA label, Phthalo. Since then, he has also released music under the names [a]pendics.shuffle, The Premature Wig, dubLoner, Electronic Music Composer, Reverse Commuter, Bal Cath, Hiss and Buzz (with Jack Dangers), and most recently as Kenneth James G., and KJ Gibbs for labels such as Mo's Ferry Productions, Adjunct, Resopal, Budenzauber, Orac, Mineral, Tigerbeat 6, Skor, Planet-Mu, g25/ Very Friendly, Proptronix, Headinghome, Shockout, Narita, Disco Inc., Mille Plateaux,Orthlorng Musork, and Plateaux Resistance...just to name a few. www.worldofkennethjamesgibson.com www.adjunct-audio.com www.myspace.com/adjunct www.myspace.com/eightfrozenmodules Jason Emsley (Platzhirsch // Nummer // Telegraph) (Like many, Jason’s involvement began as a fan. He took his obsession the next natural step. Through help from friends involved in Denver’s techno scene he bought some decks and began to DJ. While in college, a friend had set up a small studio in the corner of his apartment and began making weird noises, partly for passion, partly to piss off his neighbors. After graduating from CU Boulder, Jason moved to London and attended a school for audio engineering with the sole purpose of honing his own production. Currently, Jason is living in Los Angeles and releasing under his birthname on German labels ‘Platzhirsch’ and ‘Nummer’ as well as French ‘Telegraph’ and London’s ‘Clever Music’. ) Brasswork Agency (Auxprocess\\Terpsichore\\Merck) Nalepa (Terpsichore\\Native State) visuals by: S-Video + Special Guests cost: FREE!
