After organizing events for a bit over two years, Electronic SubSouth is having its first official meeting on Thursday, July 20th @ 8:00pm. This will basically be a meet-and-greet for all of the local electronic musicians, plus anyone (including non-musicians) just plain interested in the Gainesville electronic music movement. We plan on talking about the future of Electronic SubSouth and the local electronic music scene in general, the upcoming Solder V music fest (in September), our role in The Fest V (in October), networking, getting shows, helping out, promotion, the Musician Exchange Program, etc. We are especially extending this invitation out to all of those local (and Ocala-based) electronic musicians who haven't played yet and/or who we have not even met! Please please come out... bring some demo cdrs and ideas. The meeting itself will take place on Thursday, July 20th @ 8:00pm. It will be hosted by Lenny Pearlman at his Light And Progress studio, which is located at 2604 NE 19th Dr. (off of NE 23rd Ave. near Satchel's Pizza). Look for a gray warehouse building that says "Pools By Roger, Inc", and park anywhere out front or in its parking lot. map: http://www.electronicsubsouth.com/images/maps/LightAndProgress_map.jpg directions: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=2604 NE 19th Dr. Gainesville&ie=UTF8&om=1 Please make the effort to come out to this meeting!
