Hello all! I wanted to let you know that this tuesday at OSCILLATE (tuesdays at The Baltic Room- May 16) we are featuring some of the areas' best electro artists (Solenoid, Senor Frio) as well as a DJ set (from m50 from Chicago). If you like bass heavy dance music this is the night for moving your lower limbs. Sub bass is the keyword for the night and the Baltic Room is more than accomodating in this arena. (those bass cabinets love the electro) Seriously here. Solenoid is one of the Northwests' best kept secrets. This man has collaborated with diverse artists like Negativeland and others and records for the ORAC label here in Seattle. If you have ever caught David live you know what I speak of here. Our boy knows a dancefloor and at the same time keep the heads happy with a dizzying array of bleeps, pings, and boings. Sweet sound here 'yall! Senor Frio is one half of the electro duo AINU and on his own keeps the electro flag waving in style with a dancefloor friendly live set that will amaze even the most discerning tastes. Senor Frio records for the Chicago label Toast and Jam and resides in Portland Oregon. and to top off this whole shebang is Toast and Jam label mainstay m50. Coming armed from Chicago with a dangerous mix of bone rattling bass and sci-fi soul; our man brings the electro goodies for the techno massive. He will be playing a DJ set, but don't be fooled. His DJ set is as urgent as any live set could be. Everything kicks off at 9p and is only $6 at the door hope to see you all out on Tuesday! OSCILLATE loves you! cheers.... Exhibition #3 : OUT NOW With its three year anniversary on the way Audiobulb Records releases the third edition of its exhibition series. Exhibition #3 brings a balanced mix of abstract ambience, glitch and groove electronics mingled with acoustic cuts. An assured compilation featuring label favourites such as Diagram of Suburban Chaos, Marion & Build with the detailed electro-acoustics of Calika, Rodolphe Kuffer and Cedar AV. Two new signings debut on Exhibition #3, Nomad Palace brings a bass heavy groove into play across a myriad of glitched up acoustics and found sound. Ultre's track is a phenomenal piece of rhythmic programming crafted over a complex piano arrangement played in real time.
