Interested to see how people have attempted to describe Run_return's music, I found this: "Run_Return's Debut CD for n5MD references those blurry lines between genres. Somewhere in this washed out space, Future-Jazz, Experimental Electronica, and Recovery Rock all work together to create a focused vision of the future." (excerpted from <http://www.n5md.com/disco_template.php?catno=134>) Now here's a question for you regarding genre nomenclature: What the hell is 'recovery rock'? Is it rock that helps you recover (from some unspecified affliction)? Is it rock that helps you recover from Real Rock that has left you weary? (i.e. like the use of 'recovery' in 'recovery party') Is it rock that is somehow not Real Rock but that seeks to recover some part(s) of rock that it wishes to appropriate for non-rock deployment? Think Alanis Morrisette - little self-referential vignettes about overcoming shitty times masquerading as songwriting. Apparently it's pretty big with 12 step program attendees and girls who just got dumped. Like many subgenres, there's a small legion of rabid fans that will defend it's uniqueness to the death. i0

HeeHee Can it be that given the 'lifestyle' predilections of many musicians, almost all 'youth-oriented' music made in the past fifty years can be said to be 'Recovery Rock'? Or maybe 'Recovery Rock' is the musical sub-subgenre of remaking a remake of a song? Like if I were to record my version of Devo's version of "Satisfaction" (the Rolling Stones song). Or in the case of live IDM, perhaps it refers to dancing ability/losing and regaining balance of oneself or one's drink?
