I figure I missed whatever discussion went on about this, but what can you guys tell me about Astrobotnia? I'm listening to the sample page from Rephlex and its pretty slick. Is it Ovuca? Kinda sounds like him, but better than his Lazy Sunday or whatever, I think. I was just listening to the Astrobotnia Pts. 1-3 sampler earlier today. Pt.1 is definitely Ovuca, as folks who have seen the Warp Magic Bus tour have seen Ovuca play the 'Satan is Good' track. To my ears, Pt.2 on the sampler sounds an awful lot like RDJ. yep. it's ovuca, as he's seen playing the 'satan' track. when i first heard it i couldn't guess it. coz it's a lot similar to: some parts of drukqs, bogdan's stuff, also a bit like yee-king and ovuca himself. and then i figured out it's tottaly like 'onclements' (especially the second cd)... and like 'wasted sunday' from what i've heard (only some streams on the net) rave on. np : cash'n'carry acid - vibert (man, this guy rocks!) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Joseph Nothing... what happened to this dude? any news on anything new? are there any japanese only releases we don't know about or anyting? this is the ulimate sylosibin (how you spell that again?) 8-bit spiritual pop journey ever. his albums just absolutely nail it with ridiculously catchy tunes and ridiculously playful production joy. OOO- i can't believe how long it took for me to fully realize the breadth of this cycles release. not the most original thing in the world, but so, so, so fine... is this an alias for someone else? Julian Fane-did this album never ever get any attention at all? i don't think OtherMusic or Kims even really listened to it. if i were him i would be really pissed... yes, it sounds a bit derivative at times, but he really nails the sound he goes for. Lexanculpt- sometimes this one doesn't sink with me, but when i'm on the train going home late at night stoned it's just glorious and frightening with mr. divine style skitteryness (But with decent song structures) and a nice classical text. his next release should be better. D'atachi-so scary, so loony, so tasty! frantic and brilliant... really, the range of emotion is relatively genius. sophisticated composition sense. Capitol K-too bad that last release is supposed to be such a bummer, my man was very much onto something... what's that track, "pillows"? best song ever ever. god, and leafcutter john... and hrvatski............ sorry about the pointelss email. i'm just doing a paper and listening to OOO... anyone have any suggestions of NEW music that can top/follow these i'm all ears. i can't afford to buy things that aren't worth it... i know that sounds dumb, but it makes sense to me. _________________________________________________________________ Don?t just search. Yeah, i love the planet-mu releases. I have been really getting into shitmat, doormouse, and venetian snares recently. They are some great artists. I think the new Venetian Snares is probably gonna be the best CD of this year. That cd is utterly perfect, rozz cause whatever whatever whatever. You mean that came out, right? It's been out about a month. It's not Aaron Funk though, it is him on vocals on "You're A Nice Girl". No-one (except for Mike P presumably) knows who it is.
