This is a big thank you to all the clever cutters that put a funky little sound as a run-out track on the wax. On second thought that may have been dust - and or skipping. But none the less, i've got a couple pieces with a break recorded on the inner loop that have kept me entertained for hours. Pinkelton Wicham wrote:

This is a big thank you to all the clever engineers/musicians that put a funky little song hidden before the CD plays that you have to actually rewind past "zero" to find. -- Mr. Tangent [the binary police] www.mrtangent.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

VARIOUS "Switches" cd - 2004 - Audiobulb: Exploratory Electronic Music (AB-004) A fine new label from the UK (Sheffield), with a fifteen-track v/a compilation of adventurous new electronic listening music which is most often a-rhythmic, often even ambient (rather than clicks 'n' cuts styled). The eerie, FFWD-like "Breath holding on to a window" by Autistici, one of the highlights, is a good example of how the album sounds. A few tracks may have a hard time avoiding clichés, e.g. Bllix, Room and Diagram of Suburban Chaos have done little more than emulate Ae, EU and Plaid, but most of the tracks evolve from oysters to lilies as they open up after a few listening rounds, e.g. "Large open spaces" (Oti), "Singalong Tammy" (Marion), "Content" (Rodolphe Küffer) or "Half asleep" (Prhizzm). The hidden, fifteenth track is by Autistici and its title is "Invisible switches on a visible wall". For those of you who were hoping ambient still had something in store, or for those into IDM electronica without too much of that 'D' ingredient. www.dma.be/p/ultra/uzine/0412.htm Audiobulb Records www.audiobulb.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
