Hmmmm....Lloyd Cole (!! - yes, *that* Lloyd Cole) has just released an LP called "Plastic Wood" which consists of 18 all-instrumental electronic excursions - very idm/ambient hybrid and really, really quite nice. Probably more ambient than anything, but rhythmic-pulsating and melodic as all-get-out. Pretty nice stuff from an unexpected source for this ilk - and, as a result, sounding unaffected by recent trends in these genres.
