Randomnumber is an electronic musician with a strong background in live
music. He was a member of Coping Saw, Rauschen, and most famously, Hood. His
music has been described as "'northern wrongbeat': a mesh of emotive,
brooding harmonies drawn and quartered by complex, beat-heavy rhythms." His
2002 The Fact That I Did EP on Mogwai's Rock Action imprint was named Dance
Single of the Week by NME, who called it "Slint meets Aphex Twin on
plastic". His music ranges from very dark heavy textural noisy terrain to
much more melodic sounds, and should appeal to fans of Autechre and Richard
Devine.
I Am A Robot And Proud played at the Bunker in 2003 (where he was definitely
the highlight of the Skylab Operations tour), and we are happy to welcome
him back to NYC. His music is intensely electronic and robotic sounding
(thus the name), without sacrificing a warm human melodic sensibility.
Follow the link to his website for much more information, mp3's, and be sure
to run your mouse over the triangles for participatory electronic music fun.
Uni and Barbariz are here from Estonia! we've never heard them play, but
the CD's we got from Kohvi are great. Mixmaster Morris has been telling us
how great these guys are for awhile now. Check out the Kohvi website for
more details:

Unjust is a Miami friend of the Secret Frequency Crew who is loosely
affiliated with the Schematic label. Once the idm guys are finished around
1am, she will take over on the turntables and hit us with some very tasteful
minimal techno and tech-house. She rattled off a bunch of labels she likes
on the phone, and they were all Bunker faves.
