Saw it. It was both too focused (they make the label seem like they had about 3 bands) and too scattered (chronology is a mess, and there's a fair of non-sequitur). Still worth watching, though, and a lot of the stuff you might think is a lie (like the table) is actually true - or widely promoted fiction. So, here's my next question. Outside of the two issue article on Factory Records that Select did a long time ago (which I never saw the second issue of anyway), does anyone know if there's a book or a website where I can read about the history of Factory? Yes, I've found the discography site, but there's a lot of stuff on there that has me scratching my head and wondering who, what, and why. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The movie is not a documentary, and therefore you can't expect an exhaustive historical treatment of the subject... Although I guess it is a rather arcane subject, and not everyone will have access to companion articles such as those printed in the LA Weekly. Ok kids, here's your reading assignment, to go along with the movie: http://www.laweekly.com/ink/02/39/features-mullen.php http://www.laweekly.com/ink/02/39/features-stringer.php http://www.laweekly.com/ink/02/39/features-payne.php http://www.laweekly.com/ink/02/39/features-wilson.php Enjoy Lisa b Andrew Hime wrote:

I know, I was just left wanting to know more from my previous exposure to the subject. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
