Please join us for the next installment of FUTURE
RHETORIC, Toronto's live/laptop/leftfield electronic
music series, with live performances by:
naw
Audio contortionist Neil Wiernik aka naw pushes
musical boundaries. From designing new or manipulating
existing sound making devices or software to creative
uses of production environments and sound sources, naw
keeps a central focus throughout all his production
whith a trademarked use of rich, thick, lush textures
and rhythms. For his FUTURE RHETORIC appearance, naw
will be performing his recent work-- a hybrid of
minimal techno, dark ambient, dub and other
experimental musics.
Granny 'Ark
Deejaying and producing original material since 1998,
Michelle Irving aka Granny 'Ark has performed at
venues across Canada and has guest appeared on
numerous albums. Performing a self-described brand of
"X-tek" (influenced by all styles of electronic
music), she will be debuting live material from her
just released album 'What I Don't Know'.
One Caballero
Randomized rhythms, meandering melodies and risky
riffs. Catch One Caballero live at FUTURE RHETORIC as
he maneuvers his computerized concoctions into new and
not so familiar territory. Algorithmic jazz for the
'00s. One Caballero is resident laptopper and host of
FUTURE RHETORIC.
Show takes place at NASA (609 Queen St. W). Doors open
at 9pm. Show begins at 10pm. $3 at the door. For more
