what could be better, two extra days off for the weekend, lots of new music, lots of new comic books from the library, and a nice bit a' smoke? Hermann and Kleine : Our Noise Really really good. Starts off quite how you'd expect, almost indie pop, kitschy german electronica, but there's something more, it surpasses it's contemporaries, the drum programming is a little more harsh, but still with those lovely little plinky plonk melodies. By track 5, there are little vocals snippets going on, and track six has the full blown female vocals. Its really beautiful and well produced. Defintely for the fans of the indie rock/electronic cross over. Replicant Rumba Rockers: i enjoyed the atom heart featuring teatime cd, had a smile at the Senor Coconut, but this cd truly kicks ass. Very warm and realistic latin music with just minimal backing electronica going on. Its mixed, edited and overdubbed by burnt friedman, so i'm not sure how much of that is to his credit. towards the end of the cd is gets more experimental and tweaks out more. Do May Say Think: & yet & yet Big fan of the past two albums by this group. Its not idm, but many people on here express their postrock influences, and would seriously enjoy it. Amzaing card packaging ala Constellation. nice long instrumental workouts without getting too lost up their own ass about it. just listening to it at the moment. going OT: for the comic book fans, i picked up a Daredevil collection by Kevin Smith, the Mall Rats, Clerks guy. Haven't started it yet, only read the foreward by ben affleck, of all people, talking about how he was twelve when elektra died at the hands of bullseye. Frank Miller, he's the f@#king man! But yeah, kinda weird combo. -thor -- [thorsten@highpointlowlife.com ]# --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
