If you're associated with a label then you do
have the resposability to rep them as well
as yourself.
As far as "criticism", this was a direct quote
from kid606 about IDM, list or otherwise:
"I hate IDM and its elitist champions. It
makes the music sound so much more
than it actually is. It's a label invented by PR
companies who need catchphrases."

OK, I'll give you this, but there is a problem
with consistency here. You can't in one turn,
as a label or arttist, say "I hate IDM" and the
list is a "Con" and then go and spam the
list(s) without any reguard to your
statement. That's a shitty thing to do.

Agreed, Brad's stuff is always wonderful.

When the lines between good and bad
music are blurred by some neo-dada
philosophy (aka bullshit), that's when I
cease paying attention. Lesser is VERY
talented, but I'm afraid that he's gone the
way of most of the TB6 camp. (i.e. I'm more
concerned about my image, who I tour with,
and media recognition than putting out
music that matters)

Yeah, before Matador......when it was all
about music.

Now this is probably the best idea over at
tb6 right now, that and Gold Chains.

Timeblind......it's essential listening.

Yeah, enjoyable but derivitive.

From what I've listened to from that comp, I
have to agree, but it's hard to miss when
you put 150 artists on 1 record. It's an odds
game.

All I have to say about this is, if you push
things down people throat long enough,
they'll begin to enjoy it. Think of the "frog in
hot water" analogy. I think Kid 606 is a
skillful business person, with above
average skill in remixing other peoples
work. His does have some truely
outstanding original work, but sometimes
proliferation can distroy quality.....but hey,
that punk, isn't it?
