back to the way it was before napster, then. the only thing that will kill file-sharing is people that have no sense of what it means to be a part of a community and just take and take until people get sick of giving and not getting anything in return.

Limewire and Bearshare and a few other Gnutella clones come packaged with all that crappy spyware stuff like new.net and gator and other irritating programs that sit on your hard drive and collect data. If you're gonna use one of these, I highly recommend a little program called Ad-Aware that you can download from download.com. First of all, my panties are not in a bunch. I simply chose not to use the programs myself, and feel like I should warn others since the authors rarely do. I'm okay when the author makes it known before installation (preferably not at the bottom of the license agreement that nobody reads) that the method he or she is going to use to pay for the software is to have the installation program install a trojan horse into my computer, but most people don't warn about the spyware programs which is why they are so effective in the first place. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Mainly because you kids would soak my up channel and then I wouldn't be able to use my Internet connection at all. That's okay, though, my friend told me about Audiogalaxy, and that has a bandwidth throttle, something Napster should've implemented about 6 months ago. i can't understand the low uptake on hotline.. the best hotline servers (private especially, but also some public) have d/l:u/l ratios of at least 10:1 and some as low as 4:1 . .
