Phonem: Hydro Electric This cd instantly became one of my favorite cds of all time, easily in the top ten. Its not really anything you haven't tasted before, but the whole cd is a treat, from beginning to end, so even if you have heard similiar stuff this cd is worth it. I think the title does a good job of describing the sound. Its as if a bunch of machines are chilling at the beach. Every track contains two disparate sounds. One is the almost cold machine sound that is ubequitious nowadays and forms the basis or background on which each song is painted, and the other half is the super warm melodies. Most songs take a while for the melodies to kick in and they each have more than one sweet melody, so even when you think it can't be nicer it gets nicer, take for instance the first track which introduces a final sweet melody only some 9 minutes into the track. Its easy to listen to the whole thing from beginning to end without itching to ever skip a track. Perhaps one of the reasons I'll always be fond of this cd is because it produces the same feeling I got while zoning out on a shitload of Methadone, I felt like I was at the beach. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
