I think the real message is--use whatever makes you productive, whatever you enjoy using, and whatever you feel comfortable using. It just makes me cringe to see people making uninformed assumptions from a Windows viewpoint about Macs, from a Mac viewpoint about Windows, etc. There are definite good points and bad points about every OS. (oh yeah, and for whoever was talking about the midi timing on Macs being better.....it's even better on Ataris. =) )

WHAT?! Promo dated when, exactly? This track comes from Underworld's pre-Trainspotting-fame incarnation, in other words, way back WHEN, sort of late 80's. Change the Weather is a whole album by the band. It's great. Totally Oingo Boingo. i have to agree with this. that's why i get flustered when people ask "what kind of hardware is (insert dude) using to make (insert song/album)????" like, what, you're gonna buy it and make the same kinda stuff or somewhat vaguely similar stuff? there's a difference between that and in asking how to create a certain sound. when you're trying to emulate a sound, you can do this by any means possible. blaming your current os/software/hardware won't do you any good. i can buy the best paintbrush in the world but that doesn't mean i'll be the next rembrandt. just be happy with what you have and you'll surely pump out something good. one thing i'd like to know more about though, is the textbased mac sound program. i'm incoherent. shaun
