If you want something as close to the BOC aesthetic as possible, then try: mum - "yesterday was dramatic, today is ok" arovane - "tides" If you want some that shares some of BOC's feel, but includes a multitude of other influences, then try: bent - "programmed to love" air - "moon safari" Alternative slices of dirty fluff: fonn - "field 831" cocteau twins - "otherness" plone - "for beginner piano" broadcast - "the noise made by people" -- Mark Stevens http://www.headspin.clara.net/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Try Casino vs. Japan - Go Hawaii Very nice flowing melody lines with simple crunchy beats, a few samples reminiscent of Boards of Canada, but definitely a mood of their own. I'd better jump in before it's too late. I also recommend this one. Also, check out the first cd from A Reminiscent Drive "Mercy Street". Maybe it's a result of buying this on the same day at BoC "Music has the right...", but these two seem remarkably similar in my mind. In any case, Mercy Street is still beautiful. The new one "Ambrosia" is also beautiful, btw, but with a different sound. Check out www.alanski.com for samples/stuff. Interesting site if you've got the processing power. ---brian ---------------------------------- Brian W. I'm ordering from Suojain Records, could anyone recommend some essential releases I should order from there. The list of records available is at http://www.suojain.com/ (it's a straight link to the list). I have thought about getting the cds 'Pretty Boy Crossover : The Building and Formation' and 'Proem : Negativ', are they worthwhile? What about this Machine Drum I hear so much raving about, how good is the 'Now You Know'-release? What sort of IDM is it? Anything else I should get? What about the Merck compilation 'Aurora', or the Surgery compilation Initial Release? |visa k.

Hardware seems like sticky buisness to me. Although i've been programming electronic for about 5 years now, it's all been for pure self enjoyment. I've worked intensly on pcs and speakers that would make your grandparents cringe. It never bothered me much then, because however crude, it was still a representation of what was in my head. Now with demanding projects and 'fans', i've came to terms that i need some gear. I've been really shy about learning about things that i can't afford, but the plan is to get to that point and i was wondering what type of pc sound cards and moitor speakers i should look out for. With what i'm working with, i have a serious problem with contingency in sound. So i'm really focused on monitors atm. If anyone could just drop alittle of what they know about hardware on me, it would be a huge help. http://www.angelfire.com/in4/ano/forward_15.mp3 Here's a link to one of my projects. If you get that chance, take a look and let me know what you think. _________________________________________________________________ Check out Election 2004 for up-to-date election news, plus voter tools and more! http://special.msn.com/msn/election2004.armx --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
