speaking of downtempo (i was in my last post), i picked up a cool CD from 1998 by ollano on shadow last week. perhaps this isn't the best place to discuss this, but at least i'm talking about music, no? the disc features female vocalists (two of them, but no more than one on any given track) with sexy, but very different voices. one of them sings in french at times, the other has an accent i can't place. the tunes are irresistibly groovy, with a wide range of instrumentation (organs, electric bass, minimoog, turntables, etc.) spacey at times, but with powerful crescendos and an occasonal hook, the disc repeated for three days straight in my car this week and i never got tired of it. and you can bet my significant other digs it too. so, i'm sure some of you are into this music, and i'm wondering what else sounds this good and why? phase --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Ollano is very groovy. If you like the fem vox + trippy groove hybrid, check out the "Songs of the Siren" comps on Shadow. These will also lead you to other artists in this vein... 3 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
