With all due respect, sir: I hardly see how my original post -- a dialogue about other forms of art that keep within the same artistic vein as IDM -- is off topic. I was not trying to start an unrelated debate; one would think comparative discussion would be of interest to some here. At the risk of offending the IDM Gestapo, I see how you are trying to keep the list uncluttered and on-topic, but you defeat your own purpose when you attack a dialogue such as this. (Not to mention -adding- to the irrelevent traffic on the IDM list with a negative comment of your own.) What of. . . . . .Lance's oft-repeated Inaudible Reminders (I do not tune into his webcast; should his e-mails be cluttering the list?) . . .frequent discussions of the KLF (hardly an IDM group despite "Chill Out") . . .a dicussion not too long ago about Bjork in the soundtrack of "Being John Malkovich". (Not an IDM artist, not an IDM film.) The point is, -all- of these conversations belong on the list because, in one way or another, they are of interest to the people here. If my original e-mail is of no interest, -you- do not need to tell me not to post it -- the list members as a whole will make that decision by not responding to it. With apologies to the list for further cluttering their e-mail boxes with this drivel, let's keep free and open dialogue on the IDM list. Further flames & commentary can be sent to me privately.
