i give up on the topic. i've said a few dumb things & i've made enough of an ass of myself. yes, any music can be intellectualized. house, just like every music genre in existence, can be experimental (so long as it's four-on-the-floor & danceable, i guess -- otherwise who'll spin it? who'll even listen to it & say: 'this is house'?) & it can be thought of, dissected, analyzed, wondered aloud about till your teeth fall. & moreover, yeah, idmsters aren't any smarter than your average house raver. i know for a fact that if _i_ were smart, i wouldn't have gotten myself into a discussion such as this one. -- david
