I can't help you with all the specifics on dates, but I can make a small recommendation - if you dig Rother, he just put out another 12" called "Don't Stop the Beat" on his PSI49NET label. Excellent, gritty tough electro with a jerky vocoder bit over the top. Way ahead of the rest of the electro I've been hearing lately. Mildly annoying b/c the 12" only has the *one* track, but like three versions of it - reg, instrumental, bonus beats (kind of a cop-out if you ask me) - but it is a good track in itself. I don't have a Rother discog, but these are must-haves from Rother in my book: - Anthony Rother "Sex With The Machines"12" (PSI49NET) - Anthony Rother "Redlight District" 12" (Electrolux) - Anthony Rother "Trans-Europa Express" 12" (PSI49NET) - Sven Vath "Schubduse" (Rother rmx.) off Space Night Vol. 4 comp. (?, can't remember the label though!) He also does minimal techno, but I haven't heard anything in this vein so I can't vouch. But as far as electro goes, these are safe bets IMHO. Enjoy...Brock P.S. Another recommendation - DJ Hell's "Suicide Commando" 12", maybe on his "Munich Machine" LP as well. Garbled divebomb electro that sounds like some kind of mash-up between I-f and the Octagon Man. This one rocks the bassbins like no other! ____________________________________ Brock Phillips - bphil@email.unc.edu WXYC 89.3 FM The New Science Experience Tune in every Sunday night 10 PM-12 AM US EST http://www.wxyc.org for live RA broadcast Promos, demos, etc. welcome for submission Email for postal address and details...

the label is elektrolux, out of germany and fabulous. i think the whole 'space night vol.4' is pretty tasty stuff. other stuff: - been too busy @ work to keep up w/ all my goodies <all hail skimo!> of late, but am listening to the jega/kid spatula now. wish i could hear it on a big system w/ no neighbors around... - all you kids who cross-post *repeatedly* are naughty. - the new toshok labs cd is gorgeous. - whatever happened to the rumored re-release of early warp singles? seems to me i saw it in some club rag (the face? mixmag? i dunno) last year, but i haven't noticed anything. s.
