Is it just me, or are K&D the most tedious downtempo act working today? Admitedly, I've only heard the Tosca stuff, but god, if you want hipster dub/downtempo, give me Thievery Corp.(not that they're anything spectacular, but at least they're bearable) Somehow though, K&D are the hottest thing since cinnamon toast. What's the deal? Is Tosca the worst thing either of them has done? And come to think of it, Kid Loco's sex-hop remixes are far more listenable than they have any right to be. Or maybe A Little Soul is such a solid pop song that no crap remix can unsettle its lithe Jarvisosity. I've heard his album is much worse than his remixes. But it's all just background music, social grease, chin-stroking stuff anyway, ain't it? Oh well, the kids must have their fun. Regardless of the mediocrity of the actual product. Sam

perhaps so - i'm a big k&d fan, and never really warmed to tosca. best way to decide if you like 'em: check out the 2-cd k+d sessions compilation (available in the states thru k7, methinks). if you don't like this, you definitely don't like them, and need never worry about the topic again. if you do like it, well, hey -- you're welcome! jefff

you should also check out the "g stoned" ep. this is probably one of the best "hipster dub/downtempo" releases ever. RJ ----Original Message---- Sam Frank wrote:
