- Germany's everbusy Mille Plateaux label is getting ready
to release a host of new full lengths & compilations. The
albums will be Wanton Phenomena from Crank (Low Res),
Elevator 2 from Curd Duca, and Königsforst from Gas (Mike
Ink). Mille Plateaux will also release the fourth installment
of their excellent Modulation & Transformation series of
compilations. This one will be a 3cd and 3LP affair featuring
tracks from Terre Thaemlitz, Kim Cascone, Oval, DJ Spooky,
Gas, Scanner, T. Koner, T. Heckmann, T. Brinkmann, Freiland

- The london-based record shop-turned record label, Fat Cat,
is celebrating it's one year label anniversary by releasing a cd
compilation of exclusive & previously released tracks from
Fat Cat artists. The comp, called Across Uneven Terrain: A
Fat Cat Compilation cd, will feature a wide range of styles
ranging from delicate ambient electronica to hard techno DJ
tools to experimental sonic terrorism and post rock jams.
Artists included are Process, Fonn, Sons of the Sun, Live
Human, Mice Parade, Immense, Transient Waves, Various
Artists, Bjork/Funkstörung, Insync vs .Mysteron, and
Grain.
- After albums on the Island and American labels, Electric
Company will release it's fourth cd on the excellent San
Diego based Vinyl Communications label. The cd, called
Omakase, will feature "an hour of microscopic sounds,
fragmented beat surgery, kracked software jams, some
silence and even the odd melody."
