Can anyone give me any input (off-list would probably be best) on the best software or methods to convert vinyl tracks into WAV files on an NT laptop w/soundcard? Thanks, Mike

Sound Blaster AWE64 card come with a function called "Wave Studio" which does this quite adequately, though it requires some fiddling to get the volume to output correctly (seems to record everything at pretty low level even when set to the highest option, which then needs boosting before you save it).
