This brings up a related question... After listening to Plaid's _Not For Threes_ I hear a lot of similarities between my favorite Black Dog album _Temple Of Transparent Balls_. This leads me to believe that Ken's input may have been minimal on that particular release. Does anyone know if that's the case or not? Just something I've been thinking about lately... GPR and Rising High are both defunct. I'm not sure what effect that has on the copyright situation, I guess it just leaves Black Dog Productions Ltd. I wonder if Warp would go so far as to announce this release unless they were pretty sure that the copyright situation was in their favour. I already have most of these tracks anyway, but I do hope that this gets released. I am sad to say that as a long term fan of The Black Dog I have lost a lot of respect for Ken because of what he has posted here. I remained to be convinced that Plaid have in any way sold out. Also, I wonder who this "we" is that he refers to. Is it the royal "we"? wait, do you think they have or have not sold out?? unclear to me... I too have been a long term fan of the black dog and BDP, but in no negative way do I think plaid sold out. I think there were major musical differences involved. if you listen to 'not for threes' and then 'music for adverts' back to back, it's obvious. and i stayed up with the plaid 2/3 of BDP.. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think if any of them has sold out it's Ken. Remixing for Marylin Manson, signing to Warner. I'm not one to start kicking up a fuss about that if that's what he wants to do, but to then start accusing Ed and Andy of selling out seems totally hypocritical. Also, for me, Plaid took most of what I thought was good about Black Dog with them when they split. I agree there are big differences between Ken's music and Plaid's. I'm not sure Plaid have been so consistently good as they were since the split, but tracks like Undoneson, Gellab, Dang Spot show they've still got what it takes. Not For Threes and Rest Proof Clockwork have far more high spots than Music For Adverts. Having said that, I still have yet to hear Babylon. Anyone care to describe it for me? Does it have any of that old Black Dog sound?
