Read this this morning on rec.music.ambient. Has anyone heard this? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------- http://www.dailymusic.com/web/dms_Archive?article_id=1197 Electronica's oddest boffin tired of the music industry The Aphex Twin, aka Richard James, has consistently been one of this decade's more experimental electronic music stars. But now he's decided he's done with the industry. That means no more records. "I'm gonna release two more albums and that will be that," said James in Sweater magazine. Although he swears he's not retiring, James has just grown tired of the music industry. "I'm just over the whole business aspect of it," James continued. "I've made more than enough money. I really enjoyed all of it; meeting so many industry pricks and winding them up has been immensely entertaining, but it's gotten old." James plans to devote more time to his record label, Rephlex. "I've been neglecting it for awhile, and my partner Grant works really hard on it. It's time I gave him some support."

Only the previous 10 or 12 times he's announced his "retirement." Him and friggin' Pink Floyd. -d.w.
