daniel@eliteware.com said of "Not For Threes" <However, the album sounds very inhuman. Like androids made it. > I'd say that (but mean it as a compliment) about something like "Chiastic Slide" compared to which "Not For Threes" is pretty warm and pop sounding. I don't know how I'll feel in 10 months or whether I'll track down all those EPs but having just picked up the US release, I'm very happy with it. There are a few forgettable tracks (and yes, they do seem to include the ones with vocals, although Bjork fans should enjoy her bit) but overall I'd put it a few notches above average. Looking for something cheap to round out a hurried shopping trip, I grabbed the Wagon Christ "Lovely" 3-song EP and am now wondering why I need an extra copy of a song from a full-length I'm likely to buy quite soon - however there are the other two tracks "Pretty Crap" and "Suspension Breakdown" - are they exclusive to this release? Neither one is going to change your life ("Lovely" is oddly eye-opening though). Also recently got the Icarus _Kamikaze_ - the US release on the NYC based Shadow label is dated '98 and I scanned the recent months archives of this list and was surprised that there was no mention of it. I see there's a UK release (pretty sure the label is Recordings of Substance) and couldn't find a copyright date (I was peering through the huge plastic antitheft device) - has it been out for awhile there and already talked out on the list? The record originally caught my ear as an in-store play item in Tower Records where I think I over-reacted - it was such a "my God they're actually playing something interesting" moment that I mentally graded it a little too high (while I went elsewhere to buy it more cheaply) - still quite listenable though. Thanks, Bob Bannister
