probably the best thing ive ever bought, i thoroughly reccomend. I saw about 5 people using them at the recent Test one festival in sheffield.... jim o'rourke... farmers manual etc etc.. which is ironic because i was recording them all with the same machine ;-) Steve

NOOO! Do NOT buy this outdated, overpriced piece of crap. The new Sony MZ-R50 has been out in Japan for months now. Go to http://www.minidiscnow.com and check out the selection. and cheap as well. the Sharp 701, which is comparable to the MZ-R50 is quite cheap now. (my bro has the R50 and i am very impressed with it) why not get the r30? it uses the older ATRAC compression, which sounds nowhere near as good as the newest version, its larger, not as many features, less skip protection, less battery life.. its just the older version. the biggest problem would be the sound quality, though. trust me. shane
