I recently acquired the Solar X EP "kalashnikoff bullet bath" off Defective Records, and found it to be just short of magnifecent! What about "outre x mer"?? Is it worth picking up or what? For anyone unfamiliar, Solar X is a single man hailing from russia whom uses tons of russian synths! Techno meets RDJ! Kalashnikoff is a must acquire!

I acquired my direct from Defective, I am sure you could ask your favorite record shop, but Defective were very good themselves. You can either email them at dnigrin@welchlink.welch.jhu.edu or you can visit the webpage and hear snipits in real audio on some of the 27 or 28 releases out on Defective (some other fine gems as well). The website is... www.welch.jhu.edu/~geh/defective.html Hope that helps! It's definitely good EP.

There also exists the "Xrated" CD off Roman's own label named Art-TeK. It has slightly mellower feel. Hard to find anywhere apart from Moscow though :) -- With my best features, M.Z. mailto:mzabal@module.vympel.msk.ru ICQ#6385701

My first intro to this was when I did a trade with Roman Belusov quite a while ago and I wound up with (what I think is) the first record. Apparently Roman is pals with this guy. Just opened up a package with the new one on Worm Interface and I've gotta say - it's dynamite. VERY crunchy, this listy kinda stuff. Good ssense of melody and playfulness to boot. Before my wife took it off (a very non-IDM type person came to the door) a lovely quasi-ambient type thing (complete change-up in comparison to the rest of the record) was on which brought Hosono to mind. Nice record indeed. jeff -- jeff ...Great times and noodle salad. dancing/about/architecture "...with wandering steps and slow..." ICQ904008

Not absolutely. His first album "Outre X Mer" was released on tape. I very hope that it will be re-released on CD. Because I really like music from first album by Solar X :) A few tracks from this album were let out as "Outre X Mer EP" on Defective Records. "X Rated" is his second album, was released on his own label - ArT-TeK Records. More in detail about Solar X: http://solarx.mu.ru ~E~> Good ssense of melody and playfulness to boot. Nice record indeed. I agree. My favorite tracks: "One free drink", "Made In Tula", "Acid for Mama" & "Happy Balloon". Thanks, Roman
