anyone know more about this? its an ep that ive had for about 3 years now and im just listening to it for the first time in ages. i think there was also a cd version of it as well (especially since there are only 4 journeys on the 12"). its done by richard norris and rocket. mines on clear vinyl and is kinda noisy but thats inherant to clear/coloured vinyl. it's on the north south records label. do any other further recordings exist (sorry 'bout the pun) while im at it, ive been listening to the morphic resonace lp by syzygy (which is also on clear vinyl and quite loud but thats inherant to anything from rising high records) and wondering if they've done anything since. i know that the rising high "trance injection" cd comp. from way back in the halcyon days of 1994 has a few tracks but as the title suggests they're quite "trancy" and not at all like the lp. oh yeah...i just found that i have some record from that skam label that everyone goes ga-ga over. one side says gescom the other key nell and its in bubble wrap. this is AE isn't it? jonathan

If my memory serves me correctly (which it often does not), I believe that the 5 Further Journys project was by one of the members of The Grid, David Ball I think. It was released as one 12" with 4 journeys or on cd with all 5 journeys. From what i remember i thought it was very Chill Out/Space-era KLF sounding. I liked it quite a bit back when i was heavily into the ambient electronica thing.

Not that i know of but if you want a similar sounding record try the KLF: Chill Out or Space releases.

The Syzygy you are talking about is by Dominic Glynn and Justin Mackay. There were a few eps out before that lp on Rising High. Those releases were: . Syzygy: Discovery 12" (Rising High) . Syzygy: Terminus 12" (Infonet) There were a few unreleased tracks on the several of the Secret Life of Trance and Chill Out or Die compilations as well. I don't know if they've done anything since that Rising High album though. BTW: Don't confuse the Syzygy artist with the outstanding Syzygy label out of Japan. They have nothing to do with each other.

it was/is someone from the grid but it's richard norris. BTW , the global communications "yellow submarine" mix on the grids rollercoaster ep is fantastic...i think its on the remotion CD as well. oooh...those KLF's are oldies but godies...they sure dont make 'em like that anymore. although the skylab stuff is pretty decent and reminisicent.

Yes this is out. I posted a review of it last week but it's on my other computer at the moment so here's an abbreviated review: . Porter Ricks: s/t cd (Force Inc.) This cd is a compilation of the four Porter Ricks 12"s on the Mille Plateaux label coupled with two new tracks. I didn't care for the four tracks on the Spoil/Spoiled and the Expose/ Exposed 12"s that were included on this cd. But the rest of the tracks, which were culled from the two Redundance 12"s, are excellent and sound very similar to the PR releases on the Chain Reaction label. The two new tracks are both beautifully deep basic channel-esque beatless numbers. Overall this is a good cd but lacks the nice flow that the Biokinetics cd had due to a few bad tracks. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
