A few weeks ago, I purchased Modus Operandi and was really really pleased. It's a great album. At a domestic price, it's one not to be missed (for fans of d'n'b). Since I was so pleased with Modus, I thought I should pick up one or two of teh ep's. Well, a trip to the shop turned up a copy of Risc vs Reward. There was a sticker on it stating that it combined Hidden Camera and Ni Ten Ichi Ryu. This is when I start to get annoyed. I bought it (not having really read the track listings, and not having memorized the listing from Modus). I got it home and listened to it. Then I realized it was all the same tracks as Modus! Shite. There is one track not already on Modus, and one remix of something off of Modus. What a rip-off. All the other tracks are seemingly the exact same mix as found on Modus. No way! The 3 songs that are on the EP and aren't on the LP and *well* worth the $6.. I'd say that "Ni Ten Ichi Ryu" alone was, actually..

Okay, we are *both* wrong. I have have the CD beside me now.... The track listing for Risc vs Reward: a01 K.J.Z. - on modus a02 The Hidden Camera - on modus a03 The Hidden Camera (static mix) - NOT on modus (and not a fantastic remix) a04 Hybrid -NOT on modus a05 Ni-Ten-Ichi-Ryu (2 swords technique) - NOT on modus (brilliant!) a06 The Fifth Column - on modus I guess I thought it was not worth it (it cost me $11 + 15% tax here in Canada) because there is really only 2 pieces of material that are not on Modus. I thought that between two ep's there would be a heck of a lot more original material here. Actually, I'd really appreciate it if someone could post a tracklisting for both Ni-Ten-Ichi-Ryu and Hidden Camera... I happened to be on the other end of the stick... after picking up Risk vs. Reward (since it had all of Hidden Camera on it), I figured it wouldn't be that worthwhile to pick up Modus Operandi. Hello all, I saw the Source Direct disc Controlled Developments in a store, but couldn't pick it up (got a promo Der Dritte Raum instead for 4.50$). Anyone have it or have opinions on the SD disc? What's it like? hi, jay thinks he has it bad. I bought the Hidden Camera ep (import) on cd, and then the Ni Ten Ichi Ryu 12", before Risc vs. Reward came out. Imagine my surprise when i saw that almost all the tracks i had bought were compiled onto one, easy to listen to cd, for about half as much money as i had spent. Then when Modus Operandi was released, i was shocked to find, once again, almost all the tracks that i already had, duplicated again! I mean I still love the music, but music costs me enough already without having stuff like this happen (at least I have those 2 extra tracks). Now if only the earlier 12"s were this easy to find. I have managed to find the U.F.O. 12" in distributors catalog, but I'm not sure if my order will get filled (I thought everything before Ni Ten.. was out of print). Any one have info about what stuff is out of print, or news on whether they will be re-released individually or on a comp.?
