I've been wondering a while about this too. My ab3 cd came in a slimline case with no bubble wrapping, a sticker on the front of the case that included the 66% more bubbles stuff) and nothing on the front of the cd. I'm pretty sure the blank cd face is normaly, but I'm wondering if the rest of my version was proper. --brian rachielles brachielles@juno.com idm review archive, audio on kcsb, zaph records: www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/club/4980

yes. mine came without bubble wrap, but it did have the bad xerox with 66% more bubbles. the bottom is the side with "cat008" on the inside ring. cl

I'm pretty certain that the guy that originally had this cd must've stuck the whole thing (including the bubblewrap) inside the xerox machine and used the pictures that came out as cd covers. I'm thinking that after what everyone has said that the original didn't have any cover slips, just a funky sticker on the front that looked like a detergent ad. Xeroxing bubblewrap with a cd inside looks kinda cool, you should try it. -Aaron, Aphextw836@aol.com -http://members.aol.com/midibiost/damaged.htm |- \ |_ _| |_ _|/ _||_ _||- \ |__\/_ \ | \./ |=- |_- \|___| | | |_ / | | || \\ |__\| || |\ |=- -bitstream On Mon, 3 Nov 1997 00:25:30 -0700 (MST) Hess Hodge <Hess.Hodge@Colorado.EDU> writes:

Mine came in a slimline jewel case with the "66% less bubbles" rephlex sticker on the front ...

This crappy xerox cover might be a print out of the PostScript format tracklisting that was on the old hyperreal rephlex page a while back. This postscript file had just a plain-font listing of the track names and when you cut it out it would fit into the slimline CD case that the original came in (complete with dashed lines where you were to fold). Enough with this thread already! It seems every single person who owns a copy (of the first repress of ab3 I might add) is coming out of the woodwork, pining for some sort of community acknowledgment just because they own a bloody disc. Wow. I've been following this thread for days now trying to find out if ANYONE has figured out what the difference between the new repress and the original are, but to no avail. *sigh*. p.s. I also have a copy, but it's the original print in bubblewrap and sticker. Do I win a prize? :) ------------------------------------------------------ bleepbloop is online at http://tracie.res.cmu.edu bleepbloop radio every tuesday from 4-6am (EST) WRCT Pittsburgh, 88.3FM listen on the web at http://www.wrct.org

Actually while were on that subject I recently picked up AB4 on CD and had the same situation where the insert and back slip were photocopied. Is this the way it should have been or what? Thanks, Ross
