This isn't really unrelated.. I dunno. Anyway, I noticed something new and bad while working in Cubasis last night. Whenever my it sends midi data to my keyboard, the keyboard (a cs1x) sends a quiet little clickingish sound to my amp. When I leave Cubasis and use the keyboard in local mode, no click. It's strange, the more data, the more clicks. For example, turning a knob or the modwheel produces a million clicky sounds, but playing a note only gives one little one. Anyone else experience this? noah np: amon tobin, bricolage

That's the sound of the teeny weeny MIDI fairies snapping their fingers! Actually it's just the MIDI data stream somehow sneaking into the audio path. Anyone with a soundcard can usually crank up the gain on their sound card and hear the sound of the mouse scurrying across the screen. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Psyche manifests as psychic through something we call 'winding', because it twists, and puts things that were far apart next to each other, complicatedly, taffywise." -- winona on channel 78 Kent Williams kent@inav.net -- http://soli.inav.net/~kent

Thanks to everyone who helped me solve the mysterious click problem.. turns out, as one observant listmember suggested, that the audio cable was too close to the midi cable. So, for future reference, everyone seperate your midi and audio cables. :) Thanks all.. noah np: reload, collection of short stories
