Nah, I don't know anything about Boyd Rice's alleged Nazi connections, only that Mr. Rice has produced some classic industrial stuff in his days. A Finnish tabloid "City" just claimed in their story on the Church of Scientology that also Isaac Hayes belongs to their ranks - so does that mean I can't listen to my beloved "Shaft" soundtrack again, when I've found out that its composer is a part of mindwashing organisation that's known to rip people off and fuck up their lives? (As far as my own political opinions go, and if someone's unsure, I'd like you to check out my page http://www.uta.fi/~trerra/conscience.html - though this is irrelevant to this list, and I'm going to drop this subject NOW.)

I have noticed that many people will say that they do not care about a musician's politics as long as those politics do not include something they really disagree with (for example: nazism). I disagree with Consolidated's super-liberalism but their album "Friendly Fascism" produced by Jack Dangers is excellent. I wonder, though, if some group of Hitler Youth wannabes put out an equally good album would I like it? I probably would be turned off. This is clearly hypocritical.

Many but mabye not all. I don't think your can seperate music and politics. Music is a form of expression, a statement. Even without lyrics it has a meaning. Together with it you have certain live styles in music-cultures. All that expresses IMO a political opinion, attitude and can be very political my itself. Depends somewhat on your definition of politics. And when the beloved music-business comes in it definitly gets political.

"super-liberalism"? Consolidated are THAT extrem that they get unliberal themself. On one show they did some spoof-techno in order to criticize those "white techno guys". Great! Where did Hip-Hop come from?! They are very hipocritical themself, full of negativity and hate. Consolidated's world is very generalized and opinionized.

That's true. The sound it great.

why? I guess you are somewhat political and Consolidated is just to extreme for you. I at least am sick of those preaching musicians. A good song, that makes me think, that moves me etc. is ok but don't try to tell me what the "truth" is. Because of that I prefer Meat Beat Manifesto or Spearhead! :) take care, harald Wicked World: http://music.city.de/wicked
