The man that IDM forgot...... :) Anybody know what Kenny Larkin has been up to in the last few years? I received this rather sexy Dark Comedy 12" on Elypsia Records called Seven Days. It's a sorta sampler for his new full length. It's pleasantly flowing Detroit in it's purest (and most minimal form).... worth checking out. I was just surprised when it showed up, as I thought Larkin had been bound and gagged by R&S..... and has instead taken up selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door. onnow: Generation Starwars (mille plateaux) Lame Thread Prevention in Effect: Aaron Michelson --------------------------------------------------------------------- aw-teck'r (autechre) "Everything you Know is Wrong" For reviews, interviews, art & trash http://www.on-it.net/~aaron/ aaron@defiant.on-it.net

There are two Dark Comedy 12"s on Elypsia, Seven Days and Plankton. There is also a forthcoming Dark Comedy lp/cd on Elypsia. Kenny released a compilation of Art of Dance (his label) tracks last year. Also he released an lp/cd called Metaphor two years ago plus two singles off that ep last year. He has also done a few remixes lately for the likes of Slam and amongst others. I had also heard rumors that there is a second Dark Comedy cd/lp coming out called Seven Nights with more downtempo material. BTW: I highly recommend the two new Dark Comedy 12"s on Elypsia. Also check out two other cool new Elypsia 12"s by Claude Young and D-Knox. Elypsia is a label to keep an eye on. Quality. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Wait until you hear the next Kenny Larkin release on Elypsia: "Plankton" It shows that there is still innovation in techno/IDM without resorting to stringing a bunch of weird effects together. This is a *track*. Brilliant. Add to this the absolutely stunning Ian O'Brien album and you can say that the past month has been a top month for electronic music.
