Here's some reposted info:
I don't have the e-mail address, but here are the essential stats:
Digital Underground
526 S. 5th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19147

This store is a tremendous resource.
Focus on ambient, idm, gothic, dark ambient, industrial, avant-garde,
noise, etc. Generally a good selection of this-listy material. Lots of
Nambient and FAXual recordings (the proper terminology for the Pete Namlook
School of Ambient). A catalog is available.
I have found many FAX releases there, also the much-coveted "Ambient
Isolationism" and similar releases, loads of imports, and what seems to be
the entire Projekt and TVT/Warp catalogues. All those groovy AI artists.
Laswell and friends. The used bins are full of goodies. Well, after I
found "Ambient Dub 2" in the used bin for $2.99, I would not be one to
complain that this price was unreasonably low. You may also find here any
record ever released with a reference to orbs or spherical objects, whether
in name, graphic design, or musical style (? Well, think of Parmenides, and
smile).
The proprietors tend to be a bit on the moody side, probably from listening
to a tad much Front Line Assembly, but are generally a fine and helpful
lot. They'll throw on any record you want to hear, unless it's something
which they either do not have, does not exist, or is in excessively poor
taste.
They do take phone orders, by the way.
But anyone near Philadelphia should stop in and browse and lurk. Also, you
might meet some of the strange mutants who frequent such a place, skulking
around with their underground tastes in bland beer-from-a-bottle
Philadelphia.
Also, 611 Records, home base of the area's finest DJs, is only two blocks
away, and houses enough 12"s to make your head spin baby right round like a
record baby. God, not that song. Techno, house, tribal, deep, trance,
hard trance, ambient, jungle, ambient jungle (uh-oh), noise, ambient noise,
intelligent noise, stupid noise, stoopid noize, and, of course, just plain
old non-musical sounds that inexplicably made it to plastic.
And now, a recording of my single houseplant growing, in a bubble island
earth of idyllic eco-ecstasy within the sterile confines of the urban
concrete jungle:
"Give me water! No, not that polluted Philadelphia toxic chemical sewage!
I want Evian! Talk to me! You ignore me! You leave me here alone all the
time! At least get another plant so I have company! Your computer is a
snob and keeps telling me I'm a primitive lifeform! He can't even grow - "
Oh, sorry. That must be a remix.
