my advice: stay away from Endemic Void if you don't like the 'jazzy' shit.
they're in that live-jam-meets-breaks mold. . . but with the added ounce of
greatness which comes from just being part of the Language crew.
haven't heard the album yet - - but i've heard their cuts on the two
_Miscellaneous_ compilations and their 12"s. excellent stuff - and they keep
immaculate company: BioMuse, Si Begg/Buckfunk 3000, Phume, etc.
There is an Elixir/Endemic Void 12" on Eve UK which is unmissable.
Just too groovy, with jazzed-up Latin horns and flutes - and drumrolls as fresh
as springtime. Records like this are a reason to keep facing the daylight.
the breaks fly fast and furious, but they're not really manic. Roni Size is a
good comparison... especially his Olive remix. a more D&B Red Snapper - or more
junglized Kushti maybe (sans scratches). lush and vivid enough to resemble those
Palmskin productions. very cool shit. . . but the 'j' in jazz should be
capitalized.
