An important fact is that Luke has two sides to him,
with it leaning more towards the Jekyll side as of late
(not that we mind...), with his more lush listening
creations on one end, and his forays into the more
abrasive beats on the other.
I've only got the X-tront Vol. 2 12", a metallic-y
acid thing. It's not that bad, but nothing overly
special to run home to.
The Morganistic album on Input Neuron, on the
otherhand, goes towards a Jeff Mills-y/Basic Channelly
type o' sound, though with some exquisite drum patterns
and fills that gives it a different feel than the mentioned.
'Marbles' gets a double thumbs up, as well as for the
wicked burbling in 'Soup' while the last track
'Wonder' (unless the disc has bonus..) would be the only
track comparable to his more listening oriented GPR label
excursions. Definitely still stands up to recent output along
its line, and I still would be playing tracks off of it just a bit
more often if it weren't for the quiet pressing.
Any knowledge of up-and-coming 7th Plain releases out there,
any one?, as I was big on Yellow-wise Rug myself & need my
Slater fix.
Oh yeah....that remix of Alter Ego's Lycra still kicks my ass royally!!
