Hmm, strange one this. I've been converting people to Ae too. One was blown away by Amber, and now owns it, plus Garbage and has my extra copy of Tri Repetae on permanent loan. This boy is an old synth/prog-rock fan with a tendency these days to enjoy anything cool (loves Red Snapper, NOW, Orb, Global Comm. too) Another, a net contact, checked out the Tri Repetae doublepack US release on my recommendation and was impressed enough to buy it. This lad is a fan of Moby, Jam & Spoon, KLF, PSB and George Michael (! believe it) Beyond that I don't know what to say. I have a hard time identifying "better" or "less good" Ae tracks because its all so f**king amazing as far as I'm concerned. Steer clear of "Snackwitch" perhaps as this seems to arouse very mixed feelings, but hey if you know anyone who likes old-skool hip-hop then play'em "Mag". Don't try and impress them with "Cavity Job" either! I think you should just take your favourite tracks from each LP/EP and maybe try and group a mellow (Amber, Gescom I, Garbage) side and a harder (Tri Rep., Anti, Anvil Vapre) Better still, just record it all onto a 240minute video cassette in audio-only mode! :-) later, J ^ __________ ________.__/_____ _||_/ James Skilton aka Steady J _[]/_____________[.__\____-_ DJ and Party Animal | | Part Time Hedonist |____________________________| Full Time Technohead |__|-' '-|__| jamess@ftp.com Autechre and SKAM discogs: http://subnet.virtual-pc.com/~sk393820/
