i don't know how many people have tried to find out why richard uses aphex twin as a name....or if anyone knows... theres an interview in the new mixmag (with FSOL on the cover and inside) in which he says he is called the aphex twin because in 1968 his 'twin' brother (three years before richards birth)...also called richard james, died....the cover of the album is his 'grave' (a small bunch of flowers and a name plack (?)...and richard feels he knicked his identity... good interview as well, about two pages long.... paul

All in all this is a good edition of mixmag from an IDM point of view. There are interviews with Aphex, FSOL and T Power tucked between the covers. It recommends Tricky's new album very highly, but I don't know how seriously to take its review. Has anyone been able to hear this album yet, and can back this up? Well, I saw him this summer in Geneva (Switzerland) and was a bit disappointed. I assume alot fo teh stuff I didn't recognize was from the new album.
