Hello, all idm-heads -
Anyone care to ravefully review or disparagingly dis this disc:
EuroBeat 2000 . . .
The gents at 611 played me a few seconds on Josh Wink's birthday, but
at $25 I thought I'd better wait until I checked the internet oracle.
Besides, it's the first in a series, and you know how it is, if you're
about to buy one, then you'll just have to buy the whole series.
Why? I'll tell you why.
The Top 10 Rationalizations of the Compulsive idm/techno/ambient Music
Collector:
10. "I don't want to miss anything".
9. "The rest of the series was so good."
8. "DJ <<fill in name> played this last night."
7. "It's just for the sake of completeness."
6. "I might need to sample this someday for my killer remix."
5. "That other idiot on the list has it and he keeps making fun of
me."
4. "It was meant to be a complete set. You can't break up a work of
art."
3. "It has one different track from the other three versions of the
same disc which I already own."
2. "It's a re-release with a different cover / liner notes / color of
jewel box / serial number / record label / karma / fragrance /
ambience."
And, the number one rationalization of the obsessive-compulsive
idm/techno/ambient music collector is . . .
1. "IT MIGHT GO OUT OF PRINT AND BE CONSIDERED AN ESSENTIAL COLLECTOR'S
ITEM AND THEN IT WILL BE TOO LATE AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND IT
ANYWHERE!!!"
Listen creatively, never passively . . .
Vibraphonically yours,
