I'm rather exhausted after a hard night last night, so rather than blather on in style, here's the highlights: 11pm - great set of dub and jungle really warmed the crowd, who at the time were settling back for the night ahead. Die hards immediately filled the techno room where a gazillion watts of pounding detroit awaited their blistered feet. I'd have to give the place points for style. The main room and entrance, and hallway to the techno room were covered in layers of silver paper. The hallway had trails of blue christmas lights, and the techno room was totally dark except for two little red lasers that danced and sweeped the crowd. 1:30am - Legions of Green Men played a brilliant set of their dubby breakbeat trance, and the crowd really digged it. Got to find out more about this native band. 3am - Autechre loaded their ram cards into the sequencers, and began a creeping, and virtually unrecognizable set of four tracks; well, the first two tracks. They then came back with eutow, and cleaned up the night with the MTV extendamix version of second bad vilbel. At the peak of their exhaustive set, everybody was dancing, Autechre seemed pleased with their audience, and at the climax, the guy next to me grabbed my shirt and threw up all over my leg. 4am - To be honest, I'd have to say that Jonah Sharp made my night. In his Emit Ecaps mood of hard electro, his set was absolutely perfect from start to finish...brilliant, captivating, amazing. While Autechre seemed a bit formulaic in their live approach, Sharp's hour set totally blew me away. When he finished at 5am, I knew it was time to leave...I had seen God, and nothing else could compare. 5am - So that leaves Mark Broom. Anybody stay for his set? Cheers... ____ __,---' `--.__ ,-' ; `.
